Monster and Beats by Dr. Dre have come together to bring the Diddybeats pair of headphones Stateside, where it will come in a trio of colors, where they are black, white and pink. Available exclusively at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores, each pair will retail for a pretty pricey $179.95 (relatively speaking, of course) compared to other regular headphones, but you can be sure that with such names behind the hardware, your portable music listening experience will be much better off. Needless to say, this is the latest addition to the hugely popular Beats by Dr. Dre headphone family from Monster, and from the name itself, you can tell that Diddybeats were created in conjunction with music entrepreneur and fashion icon Sean “Diddy” Combs.

In fact, to sweeten the deal, each purchase of the Diddybeats will net you a “ticket” with an online promotional code which allows one to receive a free track download of the hit single “Hello Good Morning” from Diddy-Dirty Money’s upcoming album Last Train to Paris. You will be among the first to enjoy this song, considering the album itself is scheduled for release on June 28 from Bad Boy Records and Interscope Records. Those who enter their special code can get the free download here. http://diddybeats.com/track/default.aspx.

Diddybeats will feature advanced audio technologies which break new ground for in-ear headphone performance, where you will benefit from a combination of the deepest bass tones with the clarity of high frequency production, ensuring that they are the ideal pair for use with all types of music, regardless of whether you are rooting for the hip-hop genre or prefer to rock it out, or even enjoy more mellow jazz and classical tunes. The remarkable sonic performance is made possible courtesy of the use of new materials and innovative patent pending designs, letting users to enjoy details in their music which they may never had heard before. Of course, a lot of it also depends on bitrate quality, so lossless files would do best.

You’ll also up your style ante with the Diddybeats since they come in an exclusive Sean John-inspired travel case not to mention an assortment of eartips to ensure maximum comfort and fit for every wearer. With a flat flat cable design that integrates into the overall look and feel of the headphones, tangles are a thing of the past with this pair. Any takers?

We have been doing things likeediting photos to make them look different, making ourselves into na’vi’s and cutting heads and pasting them onto other people. When I first started learning fireworks, it was very difficult because there are so many tools, but I’m getting the hang of it and learning the commands is pretty easy now.

The new Iphone has made some pretty big changes ocmpared to the previous generations

What’s new

• Front-facing video chat camera
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It’s unclear if it’s the 960×640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the “Connect to iTunes” screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

What’s changed

• The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
• An aluminum border going completely around the outside
• Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
• Everything is more squared off
• 3 grams heavier
• 16% Larger battery
• Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery

This week in Computer Studies, we have been learning how to type code languages in html. we have been creating our own webpages by using commands such as <head>, <body>, and <p1>. The html is very tricky because after every command you have to end it with a /, as well as closing it with <>. Creating a webpage is difficult to do for a newbie because the code language is very picky which can result in your page spazzing out if not done correctly.

The new Samsung BD-C7500 is truly a sight to behold, one of the most, if not the most beautiful devices on the market. And while beauty is in the eye of the beholder I’m sure Samsung would be hard pressed to find someone who does not share my sentiment. The C7500 is an extremely thin (1.1 inches thick) and elegant unit which can either be wall mounted or laid flat.

Sadly a lot of products which have had so much emphasis put on design fall incredibly short when it comes to performance, thankfully the C7500 does not appear to be one of them. Beneath its stunningly beautiful ebony exterior the C7500 has a lot more to offer. A few of the features are 1080P with no need for up conversion, Wi-Fi and Ethernet for Samsung apps.

There are three other models in this gorgeous and well bred family, the C7500 appears to sit right in the middle of the lineup. The model above, the BD-C6900, has 3D playback support, while the entry-level C5500 draws just 13W when playing a disc and can be outfitted with an optional WiFi dongle. No word yet on pricing or availability.

Consistent across all of the 2010 Blu-ray player models is a commitment to green attributes, starting with the BD-C5500 Blu-ray player. The players are all compliant to the more stringent EnergyStar® 4.0 guidelines.

How would you feel if there was a massive breach in the power grid by a hacker? Place yourself in New York when that hacker hit the power gird. What are your emotions?

I would feel very uneasy because hackers can have the potential to break down infractructure by controling the things we depend on.

Do you feel vulnerable to know that it is easy for a hacker to hack into any system?

Yes i feel very suseptable to any type of hacker attacks which is why we need download the highest antivirus systems.

What was the documentary’s message?

The documentary’s message is telling people how hacking could inflict problems with the law, the people and your self respect.

What are your thoughts about piracy/hacking after watching this documentary?

This documentary makes me feel like never breaking the law again.

Would you consider hacking as an act of war (cyber warfare)? Why?

I think it is considered an act of war because the same elements of a physical war are the same as a digital one. The same purposes and causes for a cyber war are virtually the same as an actual war.

Is there an ethical issue here?

An ethical issue is that these hackers know that bringing down companies and stuff is wrong but they still do through with it, resulting in huge problems.

What type of vision does this documentary portray? Is it optimistic, pessimistic, or cautionary? Explain.

This documentary is meant to be cautionary because it is informing you about the emotions of people and the consequences that hacking does to you.

If you knew how to hack into any computer system in the world, which systems would you hack, why that system and what would you do? (Don’t worry, I won’t report you.

I would want to hack a bank system so that i could add a couple more figures into my balance, but make it so that is completely legal.

About 1 in 5 bootlegs worldwide originates from that nation. Studios begin to cancel preview screenings.

By Jim Puzzanghera, Times Staff Writer

FROM LOS ANGELES TIMES

WASHINGTON — Hollywood is singing a new tune in its fight against movie theft: “Oh no, Canada.”

Piracy north of the border has exploded in the two years since Congress made it a crime to use video recording devices to copy movies in U.S. theaters, according to industry officials. But with piracy laws more relaxed in Canada, bootleggers can operate there almost risk free.

A frustrated Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. this week canceled all promotional public screenings in Canada, including any for its big summer movies “Ocean’s Thirteen” and “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” The studio estimates that 70% of its releases during the last 18 months have been illegally recorded in Canadian theaters.

“Within that first week, you can almost be certain that somewhere out there a Canadian copy will show up,” said Darcy Antonellis, senior vice president of worldwide anti-piracy operations for Burbank-based Warner Bros.

About 1 in 5 pirated movies worldwide originates in Canada, with pirates there on pace to illegally produce 150 films this year, more than double the country’s 2005 output, according to the Motion Picture Assn. of America.

In fact, just last week the U.S. trade representative’s office put Canada on its 2007 “watch list” for protection of intellectual property, citing “continuing concern” over the country’s “failure to prohibit the unauthorized camcording of films in movie theaters.”

Movie pirates typically begin making copies during opening weekends and quickly upload them to the Internet. From there the copies are downloaded onto DVDs, which are then sold around the world. Films usually open the same day in Canada as in the U.S.

Canada’s theaters are top-notch, many with headphone jacks for the hearing impaired that camcorders can plug into for high-quality sound. Films are shown in English and French in Quebec, so copies can be made in two of the world’s most popular languages.

In the U.S., bootleggers face as many as three years in federal prison if they are caught recording a movie in a theater. In Canada, the worst that usually happens to a pirate is getting kicked out of a theater. That’s because Canadian authorities must prove that the person who attempted to record the movie also planned to sell copies.

“Sometimes that’s quite hard,” said Supt. Ken Hansen, director of the federal enforcement branch of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

“The guy could simply say in court, ‘I am a movie nut. This is what I do. I go out and make these copies and look at them in my home.’ If he does that, he’s not committing a criminal offense,” Hansen said.

People filming with camcorders are trained to say exactly that if caught, industry officials said.

Canadian theater operators say that they can only try to halt recording activity. Employees search the bags of people attending major premieres while surveillance teams use night-vision goggles to scan the dark theaters.

“We can stop them in the middle of filming and send them out so they don’t have a full movie. That’s our objective — to catch them in the act,” said Ellis Jacob, chief executive of Cineplex Entertainment, Canada’s largest cinema chain.

But theater owners can’t confiscate a camera or a recording. “We need more teeth in the laws,” Jacob said.

Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and John Cornyn (R-Texas), who sponsored the 2005 law against movie piracy in the United States, have written to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, warning that “illegal pirating will continue to mushroom” unless his country takes action.

Canada has struggled to deal with the problem, partly because Harper’s minority government has had difficulty getting legislation through the country’s Parliament. Critics say Canadian officials haven’t made stopping movie piracy a high priority.

“For a country this small to represent 20% to 25% of the pirated copies, that’s not a good story,” said Douglas Frith, president of the Canadian Motion Picture Distributors Assn., which represents major Hollywood studios.

The passage of the U.S. law coincided with widespread use of technology that imprints a unique digital watermark on each copy of a movie, allowing studios to determine in which theater a pirated copy was made. The MPAA said the law appeared to have cut down on unauthorized recording in the United States, but it had no definitive data.

After the FBI arrested 13 alleged members of two international movie piracy rings using camcorders in the New York area last June, the MPAA saw activity drop there and surge in Canada, said John Malcolm, the group’s executive vice president and director of worldwide anti-piracy operations.

For a short time, half of the illegally recorded movies the MPAA found around the globe came from Canadian copies, Malcolm said.

The numbers have settled to 20% to 25% since then. New York was the origin of about 20% of illegally recorded movies worldwide in 2006, according to the MPAA.

This year, for example, someone using a hand-held camera recorded New Line Cinema’s “The Number 23,” starring Jim Carrey, in a Montreal theater on its opening night. Within 12 hours, DVDs of the movie were on sale in Los Angeles, the MPAA said, and in days were in Thailand and Britain.

For Daniel McTeague, a liberal member of Parliament from Toronto, the Canadian government’s failure to crack down on movie piracy is an international embarrassment.

“It is clear pirates are operating with impunity through a combination of lax laws, poor enforcement and, for some people, a laissez-faire approach,” he said. McTeague and other legislators have been pushing for a law similar to the U.S. law.

If Canada doesn’t act soon, the studios might. Last fall, 20th Century Fox threatened to stop showing its films in Canada, or at least delay releases there to slow the piracy. McTeague worries that studios will follow through on those threats.

“It wouldn’t be nice to know we’d have to drive down to Buffalo to watch the latest movies,” he said.

My Implications: The film piracy business has been booming in a place where it was least expected: Canada. What was once viewed as a very elegant country now has a black mark against its name. If Canada doesnt try to clean this problem up, canadian film pirates could cause big companies to loose millions and billions of dollars. The country would seldom be trusted because other countries wouldnt want to let canadians watch their movies if it is just going to be pirated.
